SEXUAL VIOLENCE OUTREACH ADVOCATE - Columbia County

Sexual Violence Outreach Advocate needed for Columbia County. The Advocate chosen for this position will be working in Columbia County. This is a FULL TIME position which pays $10.00 per hour. Advocates must be flexible as these are on call, rotating positions and you may have to work an event in the evening or weekend occasionally. Advocates must also be willing to travel within your county as well as for occasional training classes. You will be required to drive your personal vehicle and/or the company vehicle for work related duties, however you will be reimbursed for mileage (restrictions apply).

  • It is PREFERRED that you live in the same county as the position you are applying for but not required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must have a valid driver's license
  • Be able to pass a background check with finger printing
  • Basic computer skills needed
  • Attention to detail is mandatory
  • Be able to multi-task.
  • Bilingual a preferred but not required

  • Ability to work flexible hours. This is an on-call position so flexibility is a must!

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from participants, management and staff.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Able to anticipate needs and/or problems based on current events and/or situations and to develop solutions.

Advocates assist survivors who are victimized by sexual violence by providing accompaniment, support, and counseling in an empowerment-based atmosphere and aid in the prevention of sexual violence by appropriate modeling, education and support services. This job requires a valid driver's license for the employee to drive their personal vehicle or a company vehicle for work related duties as required by the employer to include various work-site locations.

Drug free work place. Employer will provide domestic and sexual violence training.
